File Folder Gift Card

I am sure you have seen the File Folder Cards that you make using the Envelope Punch Board.  If not you can watch a video that Patty Bennett did this past September.  This card will fit inside a regular size envelope.  I easily made this card into a pocket card by sealing up the sides.  I used my retired slot punch to the insert so it will hold a gift card.  This card was an end of year teacher's gift.

I am loving the Soft Sky and Crumb cake together with this stamp set, I hope you don't mind.  I do have some new stamps from the catalog that I need to start showing too.  I am just trying to get some card ideas together for a card class.  I want to offer classes featuring a stamp set and I think the Wetlands Stamp Set will be the first one.

Let me know what you think!

Different take on the Joy Fold Card

The other day I was on Pinterest, who isn't now a days, anyway.  I found this card and fell in love with it.  I decided to try and recreate using only Stampin Up products.  It is a different take on a Joy Fold Card which directions can be found here.

I did use the new Hostess "Bloom with Hope" stamp set.  I fell in love with this stamp set when I first saw it. I first used the Blendabilities when I colored the image, (you can see the image on the inside of the card).  I guess I have to play around a little more with the Blendabilites.   The image on the outside of the card, I used my ink pads, and aqua painters.  I liked the aqua painter more.  I will have to revisit the Blendabilities with the darker colors, I think.

I used blushing bride, soft suede, pistachio pudding, water color paper and Natural Ivory.  I used some leftover retired DSP paper and flower trim.

Let me know what you think!

Another Wetlands Simple Card

Here's another simple masculine card that I made for Father's Day using the Wetlands Stamp Set.  It is the same card just different colors.  I used Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso.

Wetlands Simple Masculine Card

Here's a simple masculine card that I made for Father's Day using the Wetlands Stamp Set.  The Wetlands stamp set is a set that I first dismissed from the catalog last year.  I did not really see the potential of this stamp set.  Honestly I was not crazy about the duck at first and now I think it is one of my favorite images.

I started with a piece of watercolor paper, I applied water to the paper using my aqua painter.  I than added some Pear Pizzazz ink to the bottom part and Soft Sky to the top of the paper.  After I let it dry I stamped the duck image with Early Espresso Ink.  I stamped the grasses with Pear Pizzazz ink around the image of the duck.  I lightly added some Pear Pizzazz ink to the duck using my aqua painter.  You have to be careful, the Early Espresso ink will bleed a little but I liked the look it gave to the duck.  I sponged all the pieces with the Crumb Cake ink.

If you have not received a new catalog and you don't have a demonstrator, let me know and I will mail you a catalog.  Also if you are in my area (South Anne Arundel County), I am thinking of doing some local card  workshops.  Please let me know if you are interested.

Karen
