Suit, Vest and Tie Card




I have been wanting to try a Suit Card for a while and after looking at so many, I really liked one that I found on a google search but the link did not work.  So what is a girl to do but to spend a few days trying to recreate one.  I grabbed the Adventure Bound DSP Stack (which I love), I thought the prints would look great as a Suit Vest.  We will be making this card for my upcoming Card Class.  I know I made these cards for Father's Day but I think this card is a great card for a Teen Boy, Graduation, really any masculine theme.  I think the Good Guy Greeting Stamp Set works so well with this card.  
I used some buttons from my button stash and had to use my Retired Small Tag Punch for the front of the jacket.  These do not fit into a regular envelope.  I still have some of the bigger square envelopes that I will use for these but I think they would look wonderful with a homemade envelope in the new Envelope Paper that is in the New Catalog that comes out on June 2, 2015.

Another Moon Lake Card with Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe





Here's another card I made using the Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Blushing Bride.  This time I added some more Blushing Bride to the card and change to the Mint Macaron 1" Dotted Lace Trim.  I love the lace trim and so glad it comes in all the new In Color's.   I used one of my favorite Background stamps - Hardwood.  (Glad this one did not retire).  I stamped inked the Hardwood with the Tip Top Taupe but stamped off before stamping it on my piece of Tip Top Taupe, I wanted a little lighter look.  
I carefully sponged my Tea Lace Paper Doily with the Blushing Bride Ink to give it a softer feel.  I trimmed the edge of the Doily a little because I did not want the image on the center of my card.  

I am going to work on some masculine cards next with this set.

Floral Frames Framelit and In-Colors



Not ready to say goodbye to the in-colors, which I really will miss.  I thought I would make some Flower Pens and Flower Clips to have on my desk and refrigerator, so I can remember them.     These are really easy to put together, my daughter even made some for her teacher last week.    The most time consuming thing is cutting out the flowers using the Floral Framelits and spraying them using the Stampin Spritzer filled with Reinker (15-25 drops), and Rubbing Alcohol and letting them dry.  I used 5-6 flowers for each pen or clip.  To make the clips I stapled the flowers making an X and attach the flower to the clip using the glue gun.  With the smaller flowers clips I added some leaves to the back of the flower.  

To make the pens, I cut an X to the middle of the flowers (A stack of 5-6 flowers).  One by one attach each flower to the pen using the Hot Glue Gun.  I added a piece of ribbon to the bottom of each flower to finish the look.  I got the idea of the pens from  -{Paper Flower Pens}- aRTful Stampin tutorial - She has a video tutorial on youtube,  She used a punch and Designer Series Paper.  I really liked the look and feel of the Filter Paper and I wanted to use the Floral Framelits.  I did not use the tweezers to the filter flowers.   

FYI: I ran out of Stampin Up Filter Paper and used some coffee filters, I did not think they were different but they are.  If you look closely at a few of them you can see the texture from the Coffee Filters.  They are a bit stiffer than our paper.  I really like our paper.   I also think the Framelits work a little better with the Filter Paper than the punches.  That is why the Floral Framelits work so well with this project. 

Don't forget they are on the Retired List so get them while you can!

Moon Lake meets Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe









Sorry it has been awhile since my last post, I was getting some much needed things done around the house.  My box of goodies from my pre-order came in the other day and I got to play with the new In-Colors. I believe these are going to be my new favorite colors; Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe.  I added a touch of Blushing Bride when I colored the image and I really think it added to the softest of the card.

I really love all the new in-colors this year.  I am going to continue to post some of my latest creations this coming week. I am sure you will fall in love with them too.  

Why did I pick Moon Lake Stamp Set?  Well this set did not make it into the New Catalog (sad face).  I wanted to play a little more with this stamp set before it goes.  If you love this set as much as I do, make sure you place your order before the end of the month.  Also the Occasions Paper Piercing Pack and Modern Label Punch is also on the Retired List.
