SC239 Card Sketch - Tree Trimmings

Card Front

Inside of Card

I decided to use the Card Sketch SC239 from SplitcoastStampers to play with one of my new Christmas Stamps, "Tree Trimmings" (#116722, pg 28) and the "Merry Moments" Designer Series Paper (#115672, pg 160). I love the designs and colors in this Designer Series Paper - Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive, Garden Green, Very Vanilla.

For this card, I used Chocolate Chip for the card base, a 4" x 5 1/4" piece from the "Merry Moments DSP", Garden Green, Real Red and Very Vanilla cardstock. You can't see it in the picture but I embossed the ornaments with Real Red and Garden Green craft ink. The Merry Christmas stamp on the front of the card comes in the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" (#115370, pg 145), which works perfectly with the "Word Window punch" (#105090) and "Modern Label punch" (#116630). For the greeting inside the card, I used the "Welcome Christmas into your Heart" stamp from the "Heard from the Heart" set(#111644, pg 142).

Note: To line up the ornaments and ribbon on this card, I used the "Stamp-a-ma-jig" (#101049, pg 191). It is a must have for precise stamp alignment when making cards or scrapbooking.

If you have any questions, please send me an email or leave a comment.

Karen

Medallion Stamp

Inside of Card

Have you seen the Medallion background stamp #115223 (page 133) in the new catalog? I love it. You can make such a beautiful and quick card with this stamp. I'm not sure if you can see but the medallion on the front of the card is embossed with clear embossing powder. I used the new in-color Rich Razzleberry.

Are you wondering how I embossed with an in-color without using Craft Ink? Simply ink your stamp with the VersaMark Ink pad #102283 and than ink it with the Rich Razzleberry ink pad, (Yes, over top the VersaMark). Stamp your image, shake embossing powder over the stamped image and use your heat gun to heat your image. Voila - you have just embossed with a classic ink pad. I will say if you have a lot of embossing to do, you would want to get a craft stamp pad if available, otherwise you will have to clean your stamp after you stamp each image.

If you have any questions, please leave me a comment or send me an email.
Thanks,
Karen

Tutorial for the Fancy Favor

Misty asked for instructions to the Fancy Favor Gift Box or Bag. This box is so quick and easy to make I thought I would just make a quick one with pictures. If you don't have a Big Shot, it would make a wonderful Christmas or Birthday Present. Stampin' Up! has so many exclusive dies that work great with making cards, scrapbooking and 3-D projects.

You will need:

  • Big Shot
  • Extended Cutting Pads (#113478 pg 194)
  • Extended Premium Crease Pad (#117630, pg 194)
  • Stampin’ Up! Fancy Favor Bigz Die (#115965, pg 200)
  • 12" x 5 ½" DSP or card stock - I used a sheet from
Autumn Traditions DSP (#115668, pg 160)
  • 9 1/2" ribbon
  • 2 - brads
  • Tag or embellishments of choice.
  • Sticky Strip Tape or Scor-tape

Run your 12 x 5 ½” paper through the big shot with the Fancy Favor Die.

Fold on the score lines. Apply sticky strip tape on the small flap (right side) and attach to the left side flap.

Apply the sticky strip tape to the bottom flaps as shown. Now you have a box.

Take the 9 1/2" ribbon and apply sticky strip tape to the ends and attach to the inside of the box. Attach a brad to each side to reinforce the handle.

Add whatever labels or embellishments you like to the box. I used Stampin' Up! Lots of Tags Sizzlits Die- #114508 - Tag #2 (in the book it looks like tag #4), it works perfectly with the Wide Oval Punch. The stamp is from the Holiday Best (level 1) 115364.
If you have any questions, please send me an email. Thanks for looking,
Karen

Crazy about Rich Razzleberry

Inside of Card

Today I spent some time with the new in-color - Rich Razzleberry. I really like this color, it looks wonderful with the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper #115675. I actually thought of my sister when I saw this color, it was always her favorite color as a kid.

I wanted to use this butterfly and flower stamp from the "Of the Earth" it is a Hostess Level 1 stamp set. It works perfectly with the 1 3/4" circle punch #112004 and the scallop punch from the Stampin' Up! Pennant Bigz Xl Die #113483. I added a white dot on each scallop with the White Gel Pen #105021. I also added the 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon in Rich Razzleberry #115613.

If you have any questions, please leave me a comment or send me an email.

Thanks,
Karen

Fancy Favor Card Holder

Last week when I was playing with the Fancy Favor Die. I realized that 5 to 6 mini 3x3 cards and envelopes would fit perfectly inside the box, so I made some cards to match this box. I used the new In-Color Melon Mambo, 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon - Melon Mambo (#115611, pg 182) and the Kind & Caring Thoughts Level 3 Hostess Stamp Set (#115324, pg 16). I sponged the edges of the box with the Melon Mambo ink. This is very simple, cute and quick gift to put together. If you have any questions, please send me an email.

SC238 Card Sketch - Playing with In-Colors

Card Sketch - SC238
Today, I used the Card Sketch SC238 from SplitcoastStampers to play with the In-Colors and some new stamp sets. The first card I used the Melon Mambo and the new Greenhouse Garden stamp set #113824 pg 94, with "Pretty in Pink" & "Melon Mambo" ink for the flowers.(I love this new stamp set, if you like 2-step stampin and/or flowers, than this is the set for you). I also used the new Stampin' Up Perfect Details Texturz Plate (#115962, pg 195) on the card front and added the 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon - Melon Mambo (#115611, pg 182). This new in-color ribbon is awesome because one side is polka-dot and the other side is solid.
.
Inside of Card

On this card I used the same card sketch but Cameo Coral and the new in-color Soft Suede with the Circle Circus Stamp Set (#115778, pg 129). I used the Stampin' Up Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plate (#114512, pg 195) on the front panel and added the 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon - Soft Suede (#115612, pg 182).

Tomorrow, I will be posting my retired stamp sets for sale. Please check back. If you have any questions, please send me an email.

Halloween Treat Box - Fancy Favor Die

This is one of the other boxes I made last week with the Stampin' Up! Fancy Favor Bigz Die. I love this die, I'm sure you will be seeing a lot from these boxes. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture but I used the tearing edge tool to tear off that fancy edge to give the top a distressed look. The designer series paper I'm using is from last year, I have not order the new Halloween DSP yet (it is on my list). I used one of the stamps in the Beware Pirates Set. I stamped it in Craft Black Ink and embossed in the clear embossing powder. Instead of using ribbon for the handle I used strips of black and DSP for the handle. I also used the tearing edge tool for the edges.

Thanks for looking. If you have any questions, just send me an email.

Thanks,
Karen

Having Fun with the Fancy Favor Die

Today I played with the Stampin' Up! Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die, #115965 on page 200. I used one sheet of the Tall Tales Designer Series Paper to make these two boxes. I attached Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon with sticky tape and a brad for the handle. These boxes are so easy to make and I will say they are quite addictive. I made two other boxes but I will show you those next week. The finished box measures 3" wide, 3 1/4" tall and 2 1/4" deep. This is a box that will hold some goodies.
I also played with one of the new In-Colors Melon Mambo. I will say it is starting to grow on me. My three year old daughter just loved the color, she said it was beautiful. Oh course she is my little stamper in training. :o)
Thanks for looking. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks,
Karen

Thoughts and Prayers

This is the first card I created yesterday. While I was on vacation, my friend's husband passed away after fighting a seven year battle with cancer. I had to make her a card. I wanted to use my "Thoughts and Prayers" stamp set on page 52. Oh course I don't any DSP with the new in-colors and I was still not sure what to do with the new in colors, so I went with my favorite color combination (Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip) and one of my favorite retired Designer Series Paper. The Chocolate Chip Paper, ribbon and the Stamp Set is the only thing that is not retired on this card. LOL Oh well, I did like the way it turned out.

After I made the above card, I went looking through the only new paper pack I have "Tall Tales". I used the same layout and made the card below. I did not use the new in-colors but everything I used is from the new catalog. Yeah! The colors are So Saffron and Old Olive. I like the way this one turned out, brighter.

Thanks for looking, If you have any questions, please send me an email.
Thanks,
Karen

SC237 Card Sketch- Beware of Pirates

I'm back. I had the hardest time getting out of vacation mode, does that ever happen to you? I guess I was just a little overwhelmed with everything and just did not know where to start. This morning, I decided to start with cleaning out my retired stamps sets and reorganizing my shelves. Soon I found myself getting into the stamping mood and started making a few needed cards before played with my new stuff.

Today, I am showing you the last card I made - "Beware of Pirates". This is one of my play cards and my version of the Card Sketch SC237 from SplitcoastStampers. This is one of the new stamp sets -"Beware Pirates" (#115187, $26.95, page 81 IBC), I love this set and had to get it. My husband and boys just love pirates. I have been waiting for Stampin' Up! to make some good pirate stamps. Yeah! Beware, you will see a lot from this stamp set.
This card is made with some of the new in-colors - Crushed Curry, & Soft Suede (textured). I'm afraid to say but ever since I got the new in-colors, I have been a little anxious with using them, I was just not sure what colors they would go with and I just missed some of my favorite color combinations. I knew I wanted to use the Crushed Curry and Soft Suede but I needed another color. I used the new Stampin' Up! In Color Combination Chart and saw that Old Olive would work. I cut my paper using "The Tearing Edge" tool to give it that distressed torn look. Than I run the Crushed Curry and Old Olive through my Big Shot using the Texturz Plates Kit #4. The Old Olive and Very Vanilla was run through my Crimper a few times changing the direction and flattening it out with the edge of the desk. I added the pewter jumbo eyelets, I really wanted the Antique Brass better but I keep forgetting to order more.
That is all for now. If you have any questions, please send me an email.
Thanks,
Karen
