PCS December ~ Winter Radiance

The winter frost is closing in.  It's the time of year you'll find lots of shimmery, glistening and frosty sites.  It's with those thoughts in mind the design team has created their projects for "Winter Radiance", the December issue of the Paper Crafters Sampler.

The projects this month include various snow-themed projects, winter reindeer and sparkling greeting cards.  The template for this month is a "Winter's Keepsake Box".

Paper Crafters Sampler Pocket Acorn Blog Hop

Welcome to the Paper Crafters Sampler “Pocket Acorn” blog hop featuring our 3D Pocket Acorn template from the September issue of the Paper Crafters Sampler entitled, “Autumn Amdist”, which offers project ideas to transition your paper crafting from summer to fall.

If you have followed the Pocket Acorn Blog Hop, you have come over from Gisela Lemus' blog. Don't you just love her acorn?  I love the embossing on the top and that pretty green bow.

This is what I came up with using the Pocket Acorn Template ……….

Standing upright
Top Off
Open

The template comes on two pages (page 1 base and page 2 top).  I printed the template onto my cardstock and cut out using my paper snips, scored on the scored lines and assembled my acorn.   Than I had fun decorating the acorn with some leaves leftover from my project for September issue (I just love these colors).

I don't want to waste any more of your time, so head on over to Heidi Baks' Blog by clicking on the "Click here" and check out her take on the Acorn.  I loved that she made it into a hanging acorn, so clever.

Thanks for stopping by,
Karen

Everybunny 12 x 12 Double Page Layout

Here's a look at the double page layout on the make n take I had last weekend.  Does that bottom left corner look familiar? Usually when I do a make n take, I always try and have a few extra's pieces cut out especially when it involves the big shot.  I don't like stopping to cut out extra pieces.  I love the Everybunny Stamp Set in the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog.

You can take a closer look at the individual pages below.

I know this week I have been using the Everyday Enchantment Paper in the SAB catalog, but today is the last day. :o(  If you did not stock up on this paper make sure you place a $50.00 order or more online and get the paper pack free.  I love the fun colors in this paper pack.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or leave me a comment.

Heaven Blessed Easter Card

Here's a quick Easter Card that I made last week, again I had some leftover pieces sitting on my desk.  I thought instead of putting them away, I should put them on a card.  I love the images from the Heaven Blessed stamp set in the Occasion Mini Catalog.  They are just so cute and fun to watercolor.  If you have not noticed I have been on this water-coloring kick, I find it so relaxing.

Let me know what you think!

Easter Egg Card

I hope you enjoyed yesterday's Blog Hop.

This is a card I made using leftover pieces from a make-n-take that I had over this past weekend.  I cut those paper doilies out so I really wanted to use them.    I just love using them to cover the ovals so they look like decorated Easter Eggs.  The middle small oval/egg, I used a little leftover rick rack from the tasteful trim die to decorate it.
Let me know if you have any questions.

*NOTE – High Tea blog hop officially starts March 28th so if you’re here a little early, be sure to come back and see all of the projects the PCS design team has created for you.

Welcome to the Paper Crafters Sampler “High Tea” blog hop featuring our 3D teapot template from the March issue of the Paper Crafters Sampler entitled, “Orange Blossom Tearoom”.
With the current trend of tea images in the paper crafting world, it only seemed appropriate to offer a tea-related template, and that is our newest “High Tea” 3D, teapot.
Now-a-days, teapot come in so many sizes and shapes, it was easy to select one for my inspiration.  What did you think of what I’ve created ……….

I had fun making this little teapot.  It would be wonderful for a little girls tea party.  My daughter had a fun time playing with the teapot, pouring little candies out.

Now, feel free to go back and take another at Regina's teapot images or select the “Click Here” button below and hop on over to Gisela's blog.

**Leave me a comment here on this post by Friday, March 30th and you will be entered into a drawing for a FREE copy of this months Paper Crafters Sample which includes 8 fabulous projects and this adorable template so you can make your very own teapot.

Elementary Elegance Birthday Card - Redo

This is one of the four cards I gave my Hostess for the workshop I had this past weekend.  She likes red so I thought I would do the same card that we did at the workshop but use Poppy Parade.  I wanted to also show my customer how you can easily change a card around using the same design but different colors; Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Natural Ivory and Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper.  I love the Peach Parfait and Pool Party but after I made this card, I really like these colors too.  I hope you enjoy the card.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Uncharted Territory Birthday Card

Here's a card the other card that I had for my workshop.  I used Sketch # 25 of Freshly Made Sketches from last week.  When I made it last week, I had the intention to upload on Freshly Made Sketches.  Oh course it also seems to take longer to get the pictures taken and uploaded.

When I want to make an masculine card and I need a little inspiration, I always take a look at the sketches from Freshly Made Sketches.  I can always come away with a great sketch and a great looking masculine card.

The Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - Stripes is one of the SAB 2012 Freebie Items.

I hope you enjoy the card, let me know what you think.

Blossom Thank You Card

I had to make a bunch of thank cards last week and I wanted to play with the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate, I love the plate BTW.  This is the card I decided to make.  It would have been a easy card without the sponging but I wanted to highlight the score lines and I think you have to sponge with this SAB Designer Series Paper because it already has some shading on the paper.

BTW:  I love the Simply Scored Tool but I just love it with the Diagonal Plate.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Wisteria Wonder Doily Easel Card

Sorry it has been over a week since my last post.  Lately I have been so busy stamping that I have neglected things around the house, so I took some time off from stamping.  The other day when I sat down to stamp, this is the card I created, do you like?  I know this one did take some time but since it is a birthday card for my mother, I wanted to spend a little extra time on it.

First I grabbed some paper from the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I stamped my Doily Stamp with White Craft and Embossed with White Embossing Powder.  I took my card base in Wisteria Wonder and the new Simply Scored Diagonal Plate to make my lattice background.  I used the Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon and the Whisper White Organza Ribbon to make the rolled flowers.  I added some pearls and a double loop organza bow to add to the extra softness to the card.

Our Creative Corner - Off the Page Challenge

A couple weeks ago, Tui Nathan asked me to be a Guest Designer this week for "Our Creative Corner".  I was so honored and I couldn't wait to play along. The challenge this week is:  "Over the Edge" - create a card, or paper craft item with a design element that is not restricted to the boundaries of the card edges, and continues to flow off the edge of the card, for instance this could be a die cut element, a sentiment banner, a fussy cut image, ribbon etc. Push your design to the edge .... and have fun!"

If you have not notice, lately I have been in love with these multi-loop bows, so I knew this would be the item that went off the page.  I am not sure about you but I usually always start with designs in my head, I have to think it through before I sit down to create something.  Oh course sometimes, I do sit down and what I was thinking, just was not working out.  This was one of the cards, I'm not sure why but this is my second attempt. I could not find room on the front of the card for the saying.  That is when I decided to turn it into a Easel Card.  Take a look at the Easel Card Open, which I guess when you look at it open, the frame-lit is another element that flows off the card.

I love these colors together, can you believe that Blushing Bride is set to retire at the end of May. I had so much fun playing along and joining "Our Creative Corner" this week.  So if you have not already, hop on over to "Our Creative Corner" and take a look at what the other designers created and you should play along.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks for stopping by!

Here's a 12 x 12 double page layout that was a make n take for a crop this previous weekend.  I think it showcases some of the new products in the mini catalog.

Mixed Bunch meets Twitterpated DSP

Crazy week so far, Monday our power went out for about 6 hours and when it came back up, I had no internet, until late Monday Night.  :o(   Yesterday I have been  working on a make-n-take for a crop this weekend and I broke my big shot.  AAARRGGHHH.  To tell you the true, I am not sure what happen, it just got locked and than it clicked and now I can use it but it just takes longer.  It clicks and wants to spit out my sandwich.   Oh course it is older than 3 years, so the warranty is no longer good.  I have to order a new one because honestly, I can't live without my big shot.  I use it all the time.

Back to the post, this is the other card that I had at my workshop this past weekend.  I wanted to show the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, Mixed Bunch Stamp Set, Blossom Punch and the new Designer Buttons (I love these buttons, great size).   I know this card has a lot of punching but the customers loved making this card.  I also showcased how to center the border punch on the card.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks for stopping by,
Karen
