Sunflower Clips

Here's a a few Sunflower Clips I made using the Beautiful Bunch Stamp Set, Fun Flower Punch and some clothespins.  These were very easy and quick to put together.

These are great to use to top off Gift Bags, Gift Baskets and Refrigerator Magnets Clips (if you add a magnet to the back of the pin).

The Open Sea Masculine Card

Here's a card that I made using The Open Sea and World Map Stamp Set.  I kept this card monochrome with Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla.  I added some Retired Linen Ribbon and Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon to the card to add to the Nautical Theme.  Of Course some sponging with Soft Suede Ink creates a vintage look.

Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary Mom & Dad!

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

Today is my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary and here's a card I made for them.  I know this is not my normal type of card but I liked the way it turned out.  I used the Brushed Gold cardstock, Fancy Foil Designer Vellum Paper, Very Vanilla, White Vellum Cardstock.  The sayings I used my computer and the RDG codes for Soft Suede for the font and printed it out on the Vellum cardstock. I thought the Soft Suede letters matched the card.  The vellum paper is laid over the Very Vanilla cardstock.  I put my mini glue dots under the foil hearts so it could not be seen.  For the inside of the card I used a little dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue, it blended well under the vellum and was hard to see which I thought was good. Next time I will use just the Multipurpose Glue with the vellum.

Paper Crafters Sampler - September ~ Mischief Makings

The first day of Autumn is just around the corner, which means All Hallow's Eve won't be far behind..

The September issue of the Paper Crafters Sampler, "Mischief Makings" gets you that jump start for your Halloween crafting.  You'll go 'batty' over the treat box, colorful haunts and royal skeletons.

Head on over to the Paper Crafters Sampler and pick up this month sampler.  Below is a look at the card I made.

Poinsettia Z-Fold Card

Here's a Poinsettia Card I made using an Sizzix Tattered Poinsettia Bigz Dies and Martha Stewart Crafts Medium Punch, Branch,  I know I should not say but I was not impressed with the Holiday Catalog this time around (there are items I like, just not many stamps I like).  I have been eyeing this die for a while now now finally decided to get it,

I first did this card as a combination of a Z-Fold and Joy Fold card, you can see the it on the sides.  I did not like the way the bow sat on the card and was not crazy about the way it looked standing up, so I changed it to a Z-Fold Card.  The colors are Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Very Vanilla.  I did use the Stripes Embossing Folder, Hardwood and That's a ticket Stamp Set.  The corner round edge is an old non SU punch.  I really like the double loop bow in the corner.

Oh course I sprayed the Poinsettia with my homemade Shimmer Spray after I curved the petals with my bone folder.

Vintage Winter is Calling

Here's a card that I worked on today, I wanted to make a card using the Lovely as a Tree and the girl from the Retired Winter is Calling Stamp Set.  I really like the way it turned out but believe it or not it took me a while to get this finished card (I had about 5 do overs).  I had a hard time with figuring out the colors and the layout of the stamps (I finally pulled out the Stamp-a-ma-jig and vellum).  My original plan was not to use the soft colors - Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, and gray but for some reason that is what I think looked the best.

I first sponged the sky with Soft Sky and then I stamped the back trees with Staz On Stone Gray on my Water Color Paper.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig and Vellum to position and stamp the Evergreen; I first stamped it using the Stone Gray and then the Pear Pizzazz (I liked the look of the two colors together).  I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig and vellum to position and stamp the girl using the Staz On Stone Gray.  Using my Aqua Painter and ink pads I colored the girl and the trunk of the the tree.  I masked her with a post-it note and sponged some more Soft Sky with a torn edge of cardstock to give the ground some depth.  Lastly I sprayed the main piece with some Frost White Homemade Shimmer Spray, it is hard to see in the top picture but the one on the left is shimmery.

The little snowflakes is an old non SU punch that I had and thought it added a nice touch.

I know the colors of this card is not your traditional Christmas card but I do believe it is stunning.

Ornamental Pine Christmas Card

Here's a card that took me longer than it should have.  To me the outcome of this card is a simple card but I had trouble fitting it on a card design I wanted.  This image is bigger than I thought.  I think it would fit beautifully on a single layer card front.  I am not giving up yet, I will work on making a different card soon.

I started with inking up the image using my Garden Green Ink Pad and then I colored the branch with my Early Espresso Marker. The bottom Cherry Cobbler piece is embossed using the Stripes Embossing Folder and layer on the Garden Green Cardbase.  I sprayed the main image with the Homemade Champagne Mist Shimmer Spray.

Winter is Calling Christmas Card

Here's a Christmas Card that I made using the Retired "Winter is Calling" Stamp Set.  I love these kind of images to watercolor especially from this stamp set.  I wish Stampin' Up! would make more.  The cardbase is Lost Lagoon that I stamped with Craft Whisper White Ink using the Splatter Stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set.  Heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  I loved the way it turned out, it looks like snow.  I ran the stripe of Pool Party paper though the big shot using the Retired "Snow Burst" Embossing Folder.   The card pieces and the Tea Lace Paper Doily were sprayed using my Homemade Frost White Shimmer Spray, I think this is what makes the card.  The picture below shows a little bit of the Shimmer.
