Detailed Floral Thinlits and In-Colors

I have been wanting to play with the Detailed Floral Thinlits since I got them but just had the time to make a few cards.  I love this framelit, it makes such a beautiful easy card.  I know I have not done anything differently than what I have seen but I added a few touches.

  • After I cut out the Detailed Floral with the Very Vanilla Paper I colored the cutout with the Wink of Stellar - Clear pen to make sure it sparkled.
  • I also used the Foam Strips (I had to cut a few very small to pop it up off the front).
  • The window sheet insert for the front card flap.
I had to used some of my favorite colors - Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Sweet Sugarplum, and Mint Macaron.  I used the Very Vanilla because I wanted to use the New - Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim.

Undersea Gel Card

This is the card I wanted to make as soon as I saw this stamp set in the new catalog.   I saw the underwater card using gel years ago and thought it was cool but of course never made one.  When I was at our local store I saw this off brand hair gel that had a blue hue and I thought it was prefect for this card.

Whoever gets this card, I am sure won't stop touching the water part, it is pretty cool.  I am not sure how it will mail but maybe I will have to test it.

Seaside Shaker Card

Here's a few shaker cards I made a couple of weeks ago using the new Laying Square Framelits, Seaside Stamp Set and the By the Shore DSP.  My grandmother passed away on June 3rd, she was on my mind when I made these cards.  I always think of the beach, fabric and Chocolate Ice Cream when I think of her.  Whenever we visited her in the summer it was always the beach, the fabric store and eating all the Chocolate Ice Cream we wanted (I think she believe that was the only kind to eat and well I do agree).  Love you Grandma!

I used my Fringe Scissors and a scrap of Crumb Cake and added a little gold glitter for the shaker part.

The fish were cut out using my Scan and Cut.

Kraft & Glassine Bag Gift Card Holder

Here's some Gift Card Holders I made using the Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags #138315 and the Glassine Gift Bags #141700 (page 176).  I also used the New By The Shore Designer Series Paper #141640 and Seaside Shore Stamp Set #141625.  I LOVE the colors in this Designer Series Paper.  I had to make a few end of the year gifts for teachers and bus drivers.  I also needed one for a birthday, these are so easy to make and love that they fit inside a envelope.  I made a lot of these at Christmas time and got the idea from Patty Bennett. -http://www.pattystamps.com/pattys_stamping_spot/2015/09/kraft-paper-bag-gift-card-holder-founders-circle-swap-by-patty-bennett.html

Helping me grow and New Incolors

Dapper Denim, So Saffron Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake

I was very happy to see that the Helping Me Grow stamp set made it into the New Annual Catalog.  It was a set I purchased with my goodies from the occasional catalog but was not able to play.  I thought it was a fun set to play with the new in-colors.  I made these cards more than a month ago, it just took me awhile to upload them, sorry about that.

My favorite new in color is the Dapper Denim, Sugar Plum and Emerald Envy (which I did not play with).  I was very excited about the Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo but they are brighter than I would like but I am sure they will grow on me.

I tried a new technique with water coloring these cards.  I used my re-inkers and Whisper White Shimmer Paper.  I have been reading about it lately but really wanted to try it.  I highly recommend you heat emboss the flower image before you watercolor.  I think it works a lot easier.  The only card I heat emboss was Sugar Plum Card and it was a lot easier to watercolor and really made the colors pop.

I also took scissor to my Flower Image and separated the flowers to make it easier to create this card.

Peekaboo Peach, Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso
Sweet Sugarplum, So Saffron, Old Olive, and Crumb Cake

Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz and Sahara Sand

Birthday Blooms Mother's Day

I fell in love with the Flower in the Birthday Bloom Stamp Set.  I wanted to make a Mother's Day / Birthday Card with this set.  I could not make up my mind on the colors, so I used 3 different combos.  Combo 1:  Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz, Sahara Sand, Whisper White.  Combo 2: Blushing Bride, Calyso Coral, Mint Macaroon, Sahara Sand, Whisper White.  Combo 3: Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Smoky Slate, Whisper White.  The inside of the cards are below.   I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut out these blooms.

Timeless Texture meets Picture Perfect

The other day I came across a card done by Anna Smith.  I loved how she made a beach scene with the new Timeless Texture Stamp Set. So I decided to sit down and create a beach card using the Timeless Texture, Wetlands, and Picture Perfect.  I have been wanting to use the Starfish from the picture perfect stamp set for some time.
The Sand and Water was easy to creating using the Timeless Texture.  I sponged the sky using So Saffron and Soft Sky Ink.

January's Thank you Cards

I am a little late posting these but these were my Thank You cards for January's Orders.  Last Year I started to send out thank you cards to my customers when they place an order.  I have been trying to send out the same card but somethings I send out cards, I already have made.  I add a little insert that says:
Thank you so much for your recent order.
Here is a gift for you!
Regift and recycle
Send this card to a friend!

That way the customers get the joy of receiving one of my handmade cards but can reuse them. These cards were cased from the sample in the SAB catalog.  I used the SAB What I love Stamp Set, I fell in love with this set and really wanted to use the White Embossing Powder and the monochrome look.  I used Soft Sky and Mint Macaroon.  I started stamping a piece of cardstock with the Versa Mark and coated with White Embossing Powder.  I had to use my blender pen and ink pad to color inside the leaves.  I am not sure why but this stamp set does not have the inside stamp to color the leaves. I stamped all of them the same way and just rotated the paper for a landscape and portrait card.  I rounded the corners of the bottom of the one.  It was fun to change them around a little.  I did touch them up using the Wink of Stellar on the flowers which does not show up in the pictures.  I loved the way these turned out and hope you do too.

Warning:  So if you place an order through my online store, make sure you DON'T select the option for NO CONTACT from your demonstrator,   If you do, I will not have your mailing address so I can not mail you a Thank you card and a annual Christmas Card.

In The Meadow

Here's another card I made using the In the Meadow stamp set without the deer.  It was hard for me not to put the deer on the card but I did it.  The DSP paper on the bottom half of the card is from the Going Places DSP Stack.
