Mini Treat Bag Cards - Valentine & Birthday

I sat down to make some quick and cute cards using the Mini Treat Bag Framelit.  I made a Valentine Card first and than a Boy/Teen Birthday card.  The top card is the first Valentine Card with two different inserts.  After I made the Birthday Card and took the pictures, I really liked the added Stars, so I went back and added some hearts to the Valentine Card.  I hope you like.  These little cards are prefect because a little treat can fit inside.  My daughter can't wait to sit down over the next couple weekends and make them for her class.

The nice thing about these little cards, you can add a little gift card to the bottom of the insert, which is prefect for teenagers. The striped piece of paper is from the Typeset Designer Series Paper.  The stamps sets for the insert are from two Photo polymer Stamps Sets that came out last year and are still available Countless Sayings 1 #135892 & Countless Sayings 2 #135893.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 251

I wanted to play again with the Butterfly Basic Stamp Set and the Framelits and I thought I would use the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 251 for inspiration.

The piece of Whisper White was stamped using the I Love Lace in Sahara Sand and the leaves in Pear Pizzazz.  I stamped the flowers in Memento Ink and used my markers to color in the image. The flowers looked a little dull so I stamped again on a scrap piece of paper,  colored them with the Blendablilities and fussy cut the flowers and attached to the main image with mini glue dots.  I did spray the flowers with my homemade shimmer mist to give them a little shimmer.

The main cardbase is Blushing Bride that I randomly stamped with the chicken wire image in Sahara Sand ink.  I wrapped the stamped piece with the Old Olive and Blushing Bride Baker Twine.  Both pieces are popped with Stampin Dimensionals.  Everything is lightly sponged with Sahara Sand Ink to give it a nice vintage look.

Moon Lake Goose

I sat down to play with Moon Lake stamp set in the Occasional Catalog.  I love to watercolor and I had to get this set.  The cardbase is Early Espresso and the first layer is from the Adventure Bound DSP Stack.  When I first saw the background, I was hoping for a New Background Stamp. I just love the look and the color, but let's face it, it is quicker to have the paper instead of the stamp.    I did add one of the Big Metal Buttons, thinking they were still current but they are not.  Again, this card can be used for a Birthday, Thank you, Thinking of you, Father's Day and a Sympathy Card.  I like to use the Teeny Tiny wishes just to have the flexibility to change the card.  I used my Aqua Painter and Marine Mist, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso ink pads.  I used my Wild Wasabi, and Early Espresso markers to help color the image as well.
Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think about the card!

Freshly Made Sketches 168 & Love is Kindness

I have been wanting to play with the Love is Kindness stamp set in the Occasional Catalog, pg 32.  I love this stamp because of its size, which makes it quick and easy to color.  It could be used for Birthday, Thank you, Get Well, Easter, Mother's Day, Sympathy and Just Because Card, not bad for a $8.95 stamp.   I used the recent Freshly Made Sketches 168 to create this card. The Typeset DSP goes so well with this stamp, I had to use it as the main background.  I pulled out the new Pink Pirouette & Wild Wasabi Blendabilities to color the image, (Page 32).  I stamped the image again on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla and fussy cut the tulips out to add a little pop to the image.
The cardbase is Wild Wasabi and an added layer of Blushing Bride.  The inside of the card, I placed a post-it note over the saying so I would just get the Tulips.  The added Twine is from the Painted Blooms Cotton Twine in the Occasional Catalog, pg 37.
Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think of the card!

Masculine Pull Out Gift Card and Mini Treat Bag Framelit

I sat down to play with the New Mini Treat Framelit that can be found in the New Occasional Mini Catalog.  I wanted to make a Masculine Birthday Card that would hold a giftcard.  This is what I came up with, I hope you like.  I came across these Impression Obsession Steel Die # DIE224-O Retro Masculine Die and thought they would be fun with the Guy Greetings set and to create some Masculine Cards.  I did use the little film strip from the On Film Framelits.  The "Oh Snap" is from the Hip Notes Stamp Set and the "Happy Birthday" is from the Guy Greetings, and the inside of the card is from the new Big Day Stamp Set in the SAB Catalog.  This would fit into a regular envelope if I moved the Tab down, which I will do next time.

I was trying to use the new Adventure Awaits Stamps with these little framelits but I could not get a good stamp image, does anyone have any luck?  I tried the Memento Ink, StazOn Ink, Versa Mark and Classic ink.  I tried sanding the image and stamping on the paper piecing mat.  I think I am going to try some Retired Craft Ink and maybe the Chalk Ink but after some many pieces of paper wasted, I gave up.  If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.  I really like those sayings.

SC522 Happy Birthday

I made this card using the New Butterfly Basic Stamp Set from the Occasional Catalog and the SplitcoastStampers Sketch SC522.

I stamped the background using the image of the Chicken Wire with Sahara Sand on the piece of Whisper White, Next I stamped the Leaves using the Pear Pizzazz Ink on the Whisper White piece.  I stamped the Flower image using the Memento Tuxedo Stamp Pad on the piece of Whisper White.  I stamped the image on a scrap piece of Whisper White using the Memento Ink and colored in the image using the New Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi Blendabilities and adding a little Wisteria Wonder to the Flower Centers.   I started to fuzzy cut the image using my paper snips but moved to my Craft Knife, I wish this image had a framelit.  I attached the flower image to the card front piece using Mini Glue Dots.  I embossed the Blushing Bride piece using the New Spring Flowers TIEF from the Occasional Catalog.  The cardbase is Prefect Plum with a layer of Sahara Sand.

I am not sure if I took to much of a break stamping but I am having a hard time getting my Mojo back.  I am keeping at it and hoping it will kick back in.

I Love Lace and Painted Petals

I had to sit down and make a Sympathy card, note to self - I need to make a few of these to have on hand.  I thought I would use the "I Love Lace" background stamp and the "Painted Petals" Stamp Set from the Occasional Catalog.  I have been wanting to use the I Love Lace stamp since I got it in the fall.  I thought it looks great with the Painted Petals Stamp Set.  I had to add the Medium size Butterfly from the new framelits from the Occasional Catalog.

The main image has been stamped 4-times.  I stamped the Leaves on one side in Pear Pizzazz and the blooms in Blushing Bride, and I stamped again the leaves, lining them up in the middle of the paper, and stamped the Blooms again.  This set is fun to play with, there is so many ways to stamp and create flowers.

The Pear Pizzazz piece is stamped in Pear Pizzazz with the lines stamp in the Painted Petals Set.

I am sorry about the bow, I wished I looked at my pictures before I mailed my card.

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think.

To a Classic

Here's another card I made using the Guy Greeting Set and the Adventure Bound DSP Stack.  It is hard to see in the picture but the Strip of Early Espresso on the side is from the DSP Stack, it looks like Hardwood.  The Cardbase on this card is Sahara Sand, and the other colors I used was Cajun Craze, and Early Espresso.

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think.

You're my Anchor

Here's another card I made using the Guy Greetings set and the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack and a Mojo Monday Sketch 378.  It is suppose to be a Tall & Skinny card but I wanted a full size card.

The cardbase is Basic Grey and I used the Arrows Embossing folder on a piece of Island Indigo, I thought it went well with the banners on the front of the card.  One of the Banners is Smoky Slate Paper and the other is the NEW White Jute Ribbon, which I thought added to the Nautical look.  The strip of DSP is again from the Adventure Bound DSP Stack.  I also added a piece of the Smoky Slate 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon to the front.   I think I am going to use this card as a Valentine Card for my Husband.  His loves Nautical and the saying is so fitting for him.  The inside is stamped using the World from the Retired "Love you More" Stamp and the "Love you Always" comes from the Something to say stamp set.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for looking,

Hats off to Guy Greetings

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  Sorry it has been so long since my last post, December was a little crazy.  I wanted to sit down so many days just to play with my new goodies from the Occasions and SAB Catalog.  I was finally able to sit down on New Year's Day, a great way to start the New Year if I don't say so myself.  I needed to create some cards for a crop on Saturday.  Of course, I came down sick on Friday evening and could not attend.  :o(  Sunday, I finally felt better enough so I could take pictures of the cards and upload to the blog.    I hope you enjoy.

Don't forgot tomorrow, January 6th is the start of the New Occasional and Sale-A-Bration Catalog.  I thought to kickoff the catalogs I would first showcase the new Guy Greeting Stamp Set and the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack.  I love both of these.  The love all the images of in the paper stack.  I think you will too.

The cardbase is Crumb Cake with a layer of stripe Cajun Craze paper from the Paper Stack.   Next I used the strip of Early Espresso with dots of Cajun Craze paper from the Paper Stack.  I did use some of the retired Linen ribbon around the two papers.  I stamped the Hats image in Early Espresso and the sayings in Cajun Craze.

The Happy Birthday saying is from another stamp set, I could not make the one that comes with the set fit.

I hope you like it, I have a few more from this stamp set scheduled to post.   Let me know what you think!

Thanks,
Karen
