Goodbye Painted Petals and Party Pennants

I could not decide what retired stamp set I wanted to play with next.  I settled on Painted Petals, I just love this set and was really hoping it was going to carry over into the new Catalog.  One of the main reason I love this set, it is so easy to create a quick and fun work of art.   I do love to watercolor/color but sometimes, you don't want to take the time.

I wanted to create a couple cards using the same layout but different color combinations.  I wanted to show off more of the In-Colors.  Well... at least I am showing the Watermelon Wonder, hehehe.  I could not resist coming back to my favorite, Mint Macaron.  I know I just love that color, it makes me love colors I am not crazy about like Blackberry Bliss.  I have never been a purple girl but those colors look awesome together.  Don't you think?  I also think that the Watermelon Wonder look great with the Mint Macaron but I made myself use another color of green, like Wild Wasabi. Which I think is a fun summer combo.

  • Fun Foam was used behind the main layer to add some depth to the card.
  • The Hardwood Stamp was lightly stamped using Sahara Sand Ink on a Sahara Sand piece of cardstock.
  • Blendabilities was used to color the pearls to add some bling.
  • The Party Pennant Die, Modern Label Punch and the Blackberry Bliss Ribbon are on the retired list.

  • Color Combos: (1) - Mint Macaron, Blackberry Bliss, Sahara Sand. (2)- Watermelon Wonder, Wild Wasabi, Sahara Sand.  - (That Wild Wasabi Ribbon is some old retired ribbon I had and I really liked it on this card.

Suit, Vest and Tie Card

I have been wanting to try a Suit Card for a while and after looking at so many, I really liked one that I found on a google search but the link did not work.  So what is a girl to do but to spend a few days trying to recreate one.  I grabbed the Adventure Bound DSP Stack (which I love), I thought the prints would look great as a Suit Vest.  We will be making this card for my upcoming Card Class.  I know I made these cards for Father's Day but I think this card is a great card for a Teen Boy, Graduation, really any masculine theme.  I think the Good Guy Greeting Stamp Set works so well with this card.
I used some buttons from my button stash and had to use my Retired Small Tag Punch for the front of the jacket.  These do not fit into a regular envelope.  I still have some of the bigger square envelopes that I will use for these but I think they would look wonderful with a homemade envelope in the new Envelope Paper that is in the New Catalog that comes out on June 2, 2015.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think.

If you are interested, I may try to make and post a video for this card later.

Another Moon Lake Card with Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe

Here's another card I made using the Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Blushing Bride.  This time I added some more Blushing Bride to the card and change to the Mint Macaron 1" Dotted Lace Trim.  I love the lace trim and so glad it comes in all the new In Color's.   I used one of my favorite Background stamps - Hardwood.  (Glad this one did not retire).  I stamped inked the Hardwood with the Tip Top Taupe but stamped off before stamping it on my piece of Tip Top Taupe, I wanted a little lighter look.
I carefully sponged my Tea Lace Paper Doily with the Blushing Bride Ink to give it a softer feel.  I trimmed the edge of the Doily a little because I did not want the image on the center of my card.

I am going to work on some masculine cards next with this set.
