Mojo Monday 355 Traveler Feminine Style

It has been a crazy busy week but today I made time for me to have a couple hours in my craft room.  I have wanted to play with this week's Mojo Monday sketch all week.  When I first saw it, I thought it would be a good start to make a feminine style card using the Traveler Stamp Set.  I love this stamp set and really want to try and come up with a few feminine cards.  I used my recently altered notebook for color inspiration.  I couldn't resist adding a little modern touch with the "Oh Snap" saying from the Hip Notes Stamp Set.  You can't tell by the picture but I embossed the image with black embossing powder and added three little pearls to the side of the camera.

Retired Items Used on this card - 3" Circle Die and the Scallop Circles Die, Basic Black Satin Ribbon (Sorry but I am trying to use up my retired ribbon).

Let me know what you think.

Mojo Monday 353 - Typeset Traveler

I was playing with the new Typeset DSP yesterday and while I was cleaning up my area I thought I would use the paper with the Mojo Monday 353 sketch.  I love this paper.  I thought the new Traveler Stamp Set would work well with this Designer Series Paper.  I could not wait to use the "And Many More Stamp Set".   Did you see this stamp set in the new catalog, I think it is going to be one of my favorites.  I love it when the sayings and punches work together.  I usually would use this stamp set with the Word Window and Modern Label Punch but I think the Ticket Punch works well too.  I did heat emboss the train with some black embossing powder.  I had to add some retired black ribbon to finish the card.  I hope you like it.

PCS - July Elements of Style

What images run through you mind when you think of summer? Does it remind you it's family vacation time, picnics or camping? Do you think of those sweet summer outdoor parties or the over-abundant blooms everywhere?

This month the design team has created projects based on what reminds them most of summer. Projects include a 3D summer basket bucket list, a 3D camping project and lots of beautiful floral images and a mouth-watering picnic idea.

Head on over to the Paper Crafters Sampler and pick up your copy.

Below is a look at my 3D summer basket bucket list.

Altered Notebooks

Here's a couple Altered Composition Notebooks I made yesterday.  The first one is for me and the one below is for my husband.  The top one I used the new Typeset Designer Series Paper...which I LOVE!  The thinnest of the paper is nice to work with to cover these notebooks.  I topped it off with some retired Black Satin Ribbon and Textured Real Red Cardstock.  I had to pull out the retired Lovely Letters Stamp set to monogram the notebook for me.   Before I covered the back flap, I attached a piece of ribbon to the top inside to use as my bookmark for the notebook.  I liked the way it came out.

My husband liked it and wanted one for himself.  For his I used the Maritime Designer Series Paper on the outside and some retired Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper.  I used the 7/8" Cotton Ribbon for the bookmark and to cover the seam.

Don't forget now is the best time to stock up on those composition notebooks.

Let me know what you think!

SC496-Sweetbriar Rose

I wanted to play with the new Sweetbriar Rose Stamp Set. I started with the Splitcoaststampers Card Sketch 496 and the Color Challenge CC486 and got to work.  I used my aqua painter and ink pads to paint the Rose.

The card on the top was my finished card.  I started with the bottom card and just did not like the Daffodil Delight as the card base.  It is just too bright for my liking.  I made sure I took a picture before I took it apart and changed the card base.
Let me know what you think.
