Framelit Label Easel Card

Here is a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square easel card but instead of the card front standing up it is the Large Framelit Label Cutout.   Oh course you are wondering 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", what size envelope do you use?  Well I guess I don't make Square Cards very much because I addressed my square envelope and went to put my card in and realized it does not fit. ARRGGGHHH  I guess that mistake is now etched into my brain, so if you do decide to make this card,  please make it a 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" square card.  I mailed it in one of our padded envelopes instead.  I do love the colors of the Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper.  I know that Blushing Bride is not one of the colors listed but the color goes well with the paper pack.

Let me know what you think.

Framelit Label Boy Valentine Treat Holder

Here's the Valentine Treat Holder for the boys in my daughter's class.  I thought the Dinoroar Stamp Set on pg 93 of the Idea Book & Catalog was prefect for a Boy Valentine.   My daughter picked the Triceratops image and we decided not to use the Red Glitter Paper.

If you are wondering how I made these, the base is 4" x 11".  I put the paper into the Label Framelit like shown below.   The cut side is at the top of the paper; scored at 3 1/2" & 7 1/4".  I used the 3" x 5" Cellophane Bags on page 181 for the inside and attached using Sticky Strip.

Sale-A-Bration 2012

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Framelit Label Valentine Treat Holder

I was playing around with different Valentine Treat ideas for my daughter's class.  This is what I created using the Labels Collection Framelit Dies.  It's it such a cute Valentine Treat Holder.  These are for the girls in my daughter's class.  Tomorrow I will show you the ones I made for the boys.  My daughter had fun helping me pick which stamps.  Of course she really wanted me to use the Red Glitter Paper..."That paper is so pretty, Mommy, use that it has lots of sparkles", she said.  The doilies are from the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper, I just used the backside.

I spent the day yesterday finishing all 22 of these treats.  I was afraid if I did not, I would be up the night before the party making these or when I do make these I would not have any candy left.  I realized my kids were making trips into my craft room and grabbing some candy.  I'm sure someone out there can relate.   LOL

Let me know what you think.

Wow!  What a great day, to wake up this morning and see that my Owl Card a winner for OCC - Show Us Your Shape Challenge.  I am super excited (is that even possible, my answer yes :).  I am also honored that I won, there were so many great cards posted.  I was in love with all the Designer Cards as well.    Thank you!

You can see my original Owl post here.

Sorry it has been a couple days but I do hope to post a card in the next day or two, I am finishing up my project for February's Paper Crafters Sampler.    It should not been taking this long but the kids are off early all this week, so that takes some of my time.

Everybunny and SAB Everyday Enchantment DSP

I know I am jumping ahead a little with making an Easter Card in the middle of January but I could not resist playing with this stamp set.  When I first saw the Everybunny stamp set in the Idea Book & Catalog, I fell in love with the little bunnies.  I did not get them right away, I wanted to see what other Easter Stamp Sets would come out in the Mini Catalogs.  Now don't get me wrong, I do like the Easter Stamp Sets in the Occasion Mini but I kept thinking about those cute little bunnies.  They were the first things in my cart when I ordered my new stuff from the Occasion Mini Catalog and the first set I played with, I love all the images and think they are great to watercolor.

After looking at the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper from the SAB, I picked this print because I love the circle pattern and it made me think of Jelly Beans, so it went perfectly with the bunnies.  The color scheme is Peach Parfait, Pool Party, Natural Ivory, and Soft suede.  Of course I could not wait to play with the new Labels Collection Framelits and the Aborning Accents Edgelits.  Now I know it says the Edgelits will cut through one sheet of cardstock but I have found these babies are sharp and it will cut through two sheets with cardstock without any problems.  I used some Dotto to secure the edgelits on the paper so they did not move around.

Let me know what you think!

Paper Players #77 - All You Need Is Love

I decided to play along with The Paper Players Challenge - Theme Challenge #77 - All You Need Is Love.  I used last week's Mojo Monday Sketch #222 to play along with this challenge.

I used the Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper to make this card.  I love the colors in this paper pack, Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede and Naturals Ivory.   I used a Doily from the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I sponged the white backside with Marine Mist Ink to make it blue.  The little hearts came from the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die from the Occasion Mini Catalog.  I used two Fancy Flower punch outs to layer the backside of  2nd largest circle from the Circle #2 Originals Die.

Let me know what you think.

Mojo Monday 223

I actually had time to do the Mojo Monday sketch the same week.   I could not wait to play with some of my new stuff from the Occasion Mini Catalog.   I used the new Paper Doily Sizzlits Die, Rue Des Fleurs Stamp Set, Blushing Bride Pleated Ribbon and the Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper.

Note: I used the Paper Doily twice on my card, the main one in Very Vanilla and the smaller one in Pool Party.  The Paper Doily Die is bigger.  I trimmed them both for my card, so cool.  :o) I will say it took me a little time to figure out what works best, with getting all the little pieces to come out.  What I found was - Tab 2, Cutting Pad, Paper Doily Face Up, Cardstock, Cutting Pad, 1-2 sheets of cardstock for a shim; worked the best for me.  I still had to roll the doily around a little but everything came out.

I hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by.

OCC - Shape Card Challenge

I was playing around last week with the Framelits Dies - Labels Collection.  I started out making a make-n-take for a crop I had over the weekend.  I came up with making an Owl using the 2nd largest Label Framelit Die.  I added him to the Fancy Favor Die, which made a great candy holder.  He is just too cute.  That started me thinking, he would make a really cute easel card. When I saw that the challenge for Our Creative Corner - Challenge - was Show Us Your Shapes Challenge.   I got busy making this cute owl into an easel card.

Sneak Peek Alert - The paper, brads and ribbon are in the Sale-a-bration Catalog  - Everyday Enchantment collection.  This will fit in a regular size envelope.  Let me know what you think.

January Paper Crafters Sampler

Here is a little sneak peak on my project for the Paper Crafters Sampler - January Issue - Expression of Affection.  Just in time for Valentines Day.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Karen

Greetings and Paper Crafters Sampler

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year.  I know I have been off line for a couple months.  With family vacation, holidays and kids...it has been a busy time.  I do promise to do better with the new year.  With the great Occasion Mini Catalog and the Sale-a-bration catalog coming out next month...there will be some fun projects and cards that I will be posting soon.

I am so excited to say that I have been asked to join Melanie Schulenberg's, Paper Crafters Sampler Design Team.  I was shocked and thrilled with the offer.  Have you seen the amazing design team and projects they create?  I am thrilled to be a part of it.  Of course my first project will be in the January Issue.

This is a monthly online publication of Stampin'Up! Projects and is such a great resource for your paper crafting ideas. You can subscribe for each month's edition and download each of the projects and instructions, too. I've seen the awesome projects the DTs have created in past editions and it's definitely worth the while. You can check out the site and trial sampler to see what it's all about. Then, if you decide to sign up, you can use referral code PCSKS.

Thanks for stopping by,
Karen
