Set of three Nautical Cards

I have a group I meet with every 6 weeks, they have named themselves the Creative Diva's.  This group is very new to stamping and paper crafting, so I have a good time introducing them to new things every 6 weeks.  This time they wanted me to introduce to them scrapbooking, but a couple of them really wanted to do cards.  I thought a Nautical/Beach layout for the summer would be the best.  I created a Project Life Nautical Layout that I will show you next week but I really wanted to show the three cards that I created using the same stamps as the scrapbook layout.  I wanted the layout of the cards to be very similar so it will be easier for newbies and easier for me to cutout.   Two of the cards are Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.  The Sea Turtle card I had to use the Mint Macron, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.    The faux brads are the 1/4" handheld circle punch.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think!

Watercolor Wings meet Dahlia

Remember the other day when I said I had a desk of butterflies, well here is another card I created to showcase them.  I pulled out the New Definitely Dahlia Background Stamp, I thought it made a great background for the butterflies.  I first tried the Mint Macron, Lost Lagoon but settled on Soft Sky to stamp the Dahlia.  It was just the right contrast for the butterflies.  I am not sure if you can see the shimmer, I came across this new pen - Zig Wink of Stella Brush with Individual Paper Box, Glitter Clear  to add the glitter on the flower.  My customers know I love it when my cards shimmer so this is my new favorite because, I like the ability to add a light shimmer only on the stamped image.  The only down side, my daughter has seen this pen and loves it too.  I have seen her sneaking in and using it on her crafts.  Note to self, I need to hide the pen.

From Land to Sea

As soon as I saw the From Land to Sea stamp set, I knew I wanted to make an underwater card.  I just love the Sea Turtle and the Jelly Fish image.  First, I stamped the jelly fish using the Craft White Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Next I used my aqua painter, Night of Navy, Lost Lagoon, and Mint Macron to color the watercolor paper.  Once it was dried I stamped the Coral Image from the By The Tide Set around the edges in Tip Top Taupe.  Using the dots from the Gorgeous Grunge I stamped using the White Craft Ink.  I stamped the turtle onto a scrap piece of watercolor paper using my Timber Brown Staz On ink.  I colored him using the Mint Macron and Tip Top Taupe, fussy cut him out and attached to the card front using the Stampin Dimensional.   I created two different cards because I could not make up my mind which one looks better.  I like them both but I like the Tip Taupe cardbase more.  After I create the Lost Lagoon, my son informed me that the sea turtles eat jelly fish and the turtle would be going toward them (He always looks after me).
