Another Sneak Peek of October Stamp Camp

Here's another sneak peek of the October Scrapbook Stamp Camp. I used the new Shimmer Paint that is in the new holiday mini catalog. (I love it!) It comes in three colors - Champagne Mist, Platinum and Frost White, I used Frost White on these pages. It is a quick way to add a little shimmer to those stamped images or paper. Mr. and Mrs. Frosty were made using the Big Shot Original Die - Circles #2 #114526. Did you notice the purse on Mrs. Frosty? I accessorized her with the New Stampin Up! Sizzlits Die Beary Girl that is also in the new holiday mini catalog.

If you placed an order with me in the past year, you will receive a Holiday Mini catalog in the mail around the first of September. They were a little late shipping them out this time. I will also have a link to view the catalog on my web site September 1st. Beware it is a big mini catalog, 40 pages.

There are a couple spots left for the Scrapbook Camp, sign up soon because it will fill up. If you are out of town and can’t attend the camp. I am thinking of selling these as a kit, without the stamped images or as completed pages. Please let me know if you would be interested and your comments.

Thanks for looking,
Karen

PPA4 & Sneak Peek for October Scrapbook Stamp Camp

I had sometime to stamp today and decided to work on my page layouts for my October Scrapbook Stamp Camp. After I finished this double page layout, I decided to submit it to the PPA4 challenge. I was not able to participate in last week's challenge.

If you want to find out more about the Scrapbook Stamp Camp take a look at my event calendar on the left sidebar. Don't delay if you want to sign up, there are only a few spots left.

Each stamp camp I try to show a new technique or different ways to use Stampin' Up's products. This class we are going to use the Stampin wheel. I am going to incorporate it in a few pages, so the group can get comfortable using the wheel and guide.

This double page layout, I used the Standard "Web" wheel (#115666, pg.25) with the Encore Silver ink Pad (#101039, pg 190)to make the background pages. The "Stampin' Around Wheel guide" (#104834, pg 189) was used to make sure I rolled it out straight and even. The following stamp sets were also used: New Jumbo Wheel Haunting Hill (#116539, from the Holiday Mini), the House of Haunts (#111574, pg 22) and Eat, Drink & Be Scary (#111764, pg 25).

If you have any questions, please send me an email.

PPA2 ARTIST PICK

Remember this card? I got a nice surprise yesterday. I was notify that the Pals Paper Arts Design Team picked me as one of the Artist Pick of the Week for PPA2. I was so shocked and honored. Now I have a new badge for my blog. Yeah! Check out their web site and see the other winners.

I'm sorry I have not posted since Thursday. I have been busy trying to enjoy the last few days of summer with my kids and get them ready at the same time. I also have a Scrapbook Class in October and I need to get the pages done so I can advertise for the class. I am going to try to get some needed stamping in today.

Thanks for stopping by,
Karen

PPA2 - Card Sketch

Card Front

Inside of Card - Pop-Up Gift Card

Side View of Pop-Up Gift Card Holder

This is my take on PPA2 Card Sketch. I used the "Extreme Surfboard" Stamp (#115173, pg 80) and the "Just Surfing" Stamp set (#115012, pg 79). I am always looking for stamps that can be used on a masculine card and having two near teenage boys, this stamp will get used.

I wanted to play around with making a pop-up card that I saw on Julie Buhler's blog. Last week I saw on Splitcoaststampers where Crystal made it into a pop-up gift card holder (ironically she also used the Extreme Surfboard stamp). To make the gift card holder, I used a 4x4 piece of paper folded in half. I used a 1" circle punch in the center.

The paper is "To the Nines” Specialty Designer Series Paper (#114038, pg 163), with "Sahara Sand" and "Chocolate Chip" . I sponged all the paper edges first in Sahara Sand Ink getting more of the color on the paper. I than lightly touched the edges of the paper with the sponge of Chocolate Chip Ink.

If you have any questions, please send me an email or leave me a comment.

Thanks,

Karen

Mojo Monday 98 Contest

Card Front

Inside of Card

This is the first time participating in the Mojo Monday Contest. Yes, I know it is Tuesday but better late than never. LOL I decided to use the skull stamp that is in the "From the Crypt" stamp set (#115460, pg 21), "House of Haunts" (#111574, PG 22), "Cast-a-Spell Designer Series Paper" (#115677, pg 161), Basic Black and Basic Gray paper.

I'm not sure if you can see in the picture but I used the "Cracked Glass Technique" on the skull. It looks better in person.

If you have any questions, please send me an email or leave me a comment.

Altered Frame

This is an altered picture frame that I made for my husband's desk at work. A couple years ago we all dressed up as Pirates for Halloween, our daughter was a Pirate Princess. I have been looking for a frame for the picture. I gave up and decided to alter one instead.

I started messing with this wood frame that I picked up at the dollar store. (It did come with a glass panel but I removed it to take a picture.) I used Black Craft ink sponged the frame, than I used Classic Red Ink. Boy was that a mistake because when I Mod-Podge the frame the red ink made the frame have a pink hue, not what I was going for. Lesson learn...next time only use craft ink and do not mod-podge over classic ink.

So I took the frame back to the drawing board, so to speak. I sponged more black craft ink and than I decided to embossed it with clear embossing powder, wow that made a difference. I added the strip of Real Red cardstock and a leftover strip from last year's Halloween DSP. I added the two gold brads to match the gold coins on her shirt. The stamp came from the "Beware Pirates" stamp set (#115187, pg 81). This is one of the stamps in the "Growing Up" section of the catalog. Don't forget from August 1–31, get a FREE package of Designer buttons—a $7.95 value—when you spend $35 on stamp sets in the Growing Up section of the catalog.

My husband did love the frame and proudly took the frame into work, Yeah! If you have any questions, please send me an email or leave me a comment.

Thanks,
Karen
